Young Henrys Present… Best Served Loud @ Sydney Fringe Festival
Colliding with the arts once more, Young Henrys will be joining this year’s Sydney Fringe Festival by bringing its much-loved live music series, Best Served Loud, to an Inner West icon, Marrickville Metro on Saturday, September 10. A free, outdoor event set up on Smidmore Street between the new and original sides of the Metro, Best Served Loud will be an unmissable afternoon and night of live-music and comedy, seeing Body Type, Thunder Fox, Baby Beef (and The Next of Kin) and LADY KING take the outdoor stage.
Headlining are Sydney four-piece Body Type. With a newly minted debut album under their belt, the group are eager to deliver the joyfully-anarchic sounds of Everything Is Dangerous But Nothing’s Surprising. Keeping the vibes on a high for the crowd will be the nostalgic tones of Thunder Fox, ready to showcase their lush concoction of pop-soul production. The band’s second full-length project Sanctuary is an ode to the soulful croons of the 70s, with their distinctive exuberance guaranteed to be on display to Marrickville audiences.
Adding to the night will be the powerful stage presence of Sydney-based duo Baby Beef, accompanied by their live backing band The Next of Kin. Launching their first live collaborative-experience “Love 2 the Frontline” at a bustling Mary’s Underground in July, music-fans are in for a treat when the appropriately coined “ABBA for millennials” hit the stage for a sorely not-to-be-missed performance.
Opening the afternoon are the soulful grooves of Sydney local, LADY KING. After spells performing as part of numerous bands around Sydney, in 2018 LADY KING released her debut single “I Want You Bad”, and has since been captivating Aussie hearts with no signs of slowing down. LADY KING will ensure the dance floor is moving with her smooth vocals as drinks flow and laughs echo late into the evening.
Bringing the festivities to an outdoor setting, Young Henrys have sectioned off Marickville’s Smidmore Street for the ultimate open-air, live-music curtain-raiser. Located between the original and new sides of Marrickville Metro, Best Served Loud is open to families of all ages, with an 18+ section fitted with a pop up bar, making sure to keep fan-favourite brews and signature serves rippling throughout the night.
A brand that is synonymous with serving the people for the last 10 years, Young Henrys is proud to be continuing to celebrate Australia’s flourishing arts culture, banding the community together through live-music, comedy, entertainment and good beer. Shouting out free entry for this all-ages mini-fest, there’s no better place to be this September.
Shining a light on Australia’s abundant talent pool, don’t miss your chance to catch the stacked lineup of live music and arts in the heart of Sydney’s Inner West. Round up your mates and head to the Young Henrys facebook page here to RSVP.
