Your Guide To What's On – Things To Do In Sydney, Australia

Celebrate ADC Reopening

Join us Thursday 25 November, in celebration of the re-opening of Australian Design Centre!

You are invited to preview two new exhibitions Happy objects and Apothecary Now! (Sassy Park). And to join us for our annual Christmas Shopping event. Find unique, handmade gifts for all of your family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere.

About the exhibitions

Happy objects Happy objects is an exhibition exploring the value of objects and the stories associated with them. We asked 21 people from various backgrounds and professions to share with us a ‘happy object’ and tell us the story about this object.

Apothecary Now! is an exhibition featuring ceramic works by Sassy Park. Inspired by Renaissance apothecary jars, Sassy Park’s pots use similar maiolica glaze techniques and motifs, linking the current Covid-19 pandemic to history. The hand painted pots reflect our recent preoccupation with newly developed pharmaceutical vaccines, controversial cures and pandemic messaging.
